Prequel to Baraka confronting Vihar.

Kion fell ill, but it wasn't due to some sickness lions normally get. Now, this illness was the result of a poison. A poison that was sent by Banya, the sworn enemy of the Night Pride and the ways of the Circle of Life. But Banya didn't bring it himself. He was too smart to invade the lands of the Tree of Life. No, he sent his lackies to do it, while he waits with the safety of the Winter Pride and their leader Vihar. Baraka didn't know Vihar personally, but he knew enough that he was aware of the winter lion's ambitions. The fact that he harbored a murderer said a lot about Vihar. Baraka kept close watch over his father, til Nirmala gave him the good news that Kion would pull through and be back on his feet stronger than ever. Baraka was relieved to hear this, but with Kion weakened and his older brother Raja and Sister Sawa off to speak with one of the allied prides, it fell to him and Shani to help Rani and the Night Pride look after things while Kion recovered. And the only way Baraka felt things could be settled was to bring Banya to the tree of life to answer for his crimes. For once Rani agreed with him, but not sure how the Winter Pride would react, she had to send a messenger to seek the answer. Baraka stated that he should be the one to go. He wouldn't risk Shani's safety, not with her being the "acting" next in line to take Rani and Kion's place while their siblings were away, should something happen to both of them. He knew she could look after herself, but he was insistent that she stay with the safety of the Night Pride.

Shani: But Baraka, the Winter Lions are dangerous. What if they ~

Baraka: *Interrupts* Relax sister. If the Winter Pride so much as holds an emissary of the Tree of Life hostage, they break their pact all prides agreed on, and will go to war with the Tree of Life's Night Pride and their Allies. I'm sure the pride will be Civil enough, even if I may be a little steamed myself when I get there.

Rani: Besides. Your brother has gotten himself out of more scrapes than I dare to count that were far worse then a visit to a "not so friendly" pride of lions.

Baraka: Need I remind you of my tussles with Hatari.

Shani: Hey, I helped you with some of those tussles.

Baraka: True. But you are acting crown princess. Me, I'm merely a guardian for the Pride, and today, I am a messenger. Besides. You're far better at negotiating with the animals at the Tree of Life than I am. And someone's gotta keep our little brother Bahari from causing too much mischief. And...... try to keep him away from the water. I'm not gonna be here to swim out and get him this time.

Shani: Will do. You just make sure you don't give Makini and excuse to bonk you upside the head again.

Baraka: Noted *rubs his head remembering his past bonks on the head.*

Baraka then turned and nuzzled his father.

Baraka: Rest well dad. I'll be sure to find a way to bring that Rhinestone to justice.

Rani: Why Baraka, where did you ever hear such talk?........... Certainly not from your mother. *She looked towards her brother who gave her a guilty as charged goofy smile.* (Yes, I borrowed a line from 101 dalmatians. So sue me.)

Soon, Baraka took off. With one thought in mind. Bringing Banya to justice for all his crimes. He already lost one father and mother. He wasn't about to lose the ones who raised him too. No matter what.

Kion belongs to Disney. Baraka is a liger OC that Through-the-movies and I created together and is a character with in his AU. Story takes place in the worlds of Through-the-movies and Thunderstar711's stories, but is not their main plot, just my own branch off. There were some mentions of both their other characters in this description, but they are not present in the picture.
