Description "You're not going to die!" Fireheart gasped, feeling a shard of ice pierce his heart. "Tell me what I can do to help you"
"Don't waste your time" Yellowfang coughed angrily. "I'm going to die whatever you do, but I'm not afraid. Just listen to me"

This is my entry for contest. The themes were
1. Favorite Death Scene
2. Saddest Moment
3. Most Epic Warriors Moment

I chose The saddest moment and favorite death scene. Yellowfang's death was one of the most saddest moments in Warriors if you ask me. This is the scene where Fireheart finds Yellowfang in her den, having taken refuge in there as the fire raged through the camp.

Yellowfang and Fireheart belong to Erin Hunter

i hate how everyone draws cats with things tht rnt real. like stripes on firestar.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Moon-feather In reply to Saxumuinj [2011-07-16 06:08:08 +0000 UTC]

Well I've always imagined Firestar with stripes, so that's just how I draw him Personally I think that's it's good people have different interpretations of designs of characters such as in warriors. It breaths new life and creativity into well loved characters and scenes.

Saxumuinj In reply to Moon-feather [2011-07-16 07:35:59 +0000 UTC]

yes and it can make graystripe look like crowfeather. they put descriptions in the books. what if i decided firestar was blue with green eyes? id get so many haters

Moon-feather In reply to Saxumuinj [2011-07-17 05:58:28 +0000 UTC]

The descriptions in the books should be used of more of a guide than the literal truth. It's not as if they're particular detailed, and in some cases they can change. Now I've got say that your example of Firestar turning blue is a little extreme for what I'm trying to point out. I'm not suggesting that interpretations of designs means we can just completely change the colour or markings of a character, especially as drastically as you suggested. What I am suggesting is that using the books as a general guide to what the character should roughly look like e.g. Firestar is described as a handsome ginger tom, and then with that information creating your own interpretation of the character e.g. some stripes, a paler underside or nothing at all. This is what I mean by different interpretations of designs. I'm still following the general description of Firestar (an orange tom) but I'm adding my own artistic flair/interpretation to the character.

(Also I want to point out that art isn't about pleasing other people, if you think it's great then it doesn't matter what others think. Some of the great artists where not liked in their own time. Only many years after they had died did their works become liked)

1. there are frickin pictures of firestar. look on the first six books of the warriors series, u can see the design doesnt change
2. tht just pissses me off

Moon-feather In reply to Saxumuinj [2011-07-18 11:07:10 +0000 UTC]

It seems again you are missing my point. I was never just talking about Firestar, he was an example. My point was the descriptions in the book should be used as a guide, a stepping stone if you wish from which different interpretations can spring from, as the artist or reader so imagines it. This is even so on the covers on the books. Although the description stays the same, the design of Firestar on the cover changes from book to book, plain orange to having some stripes. These differences are different interpretations of the same character. The book does it, so why can't the fans?

no the book doesnt. now why dont you and your fake pictures go away?

You do realize that insulting people ain't going to get you anywhere in life. It's rude and makes you look really immature. What's more people don't think big of you for it. Now a mature way to approach someone with a differing opinion to yourself, would be to engage in a reasonable and mature discussion with them, without the need to resort to insults to prove your point. It's not that hard, trust me. I can however, already see that this point is going to fall on deaf ears, so I shall do as you wish and take my leave from this discussion.
