Description It was hard not to fall in love with her. I found her in Kensington Market in Toronto and watched her chalking the side of the building while her family sold their wares in the marketplace. I'd been focused on her for about 15 minutes when she finally turned. She came over to see the picture when I was done and decided she looked pretty enough for me to keep it.

I love children.

Great photo! I love her expression and the splash of colour that her chalk drawing and her hat add. Nice lines in this... I find taht what you wrote in your comment also adds a lot to the value of this photo. Once again, great job!

Ok, I'm a bit disappointed with myself, I go looking for bizarre mind-boggling shots and
end up using the button on a cute street photo. I'm turning sappy and soft.

But seriously. what fascinates me is how out-of-place she seems.. it's like some famous
photographer or benevolent westerner has picked up a kid from some bedouin tribe in
sahara (or somewhere) and brought her to "civilisation". She has sneaked out and
started expressing herself in this weird urban jungle, maybe to find herself..

... and then the hunter of the urban jungle has sneaked up on her, and the girl is shot..
turning just in time to see the shooter. Not any fear, just surprise.

Keep shooting

I really love this one. The bright colors on her hat, and that of her drawings really make her stand out from the rest of her "neutral" surroundings. Composition is wonderful! I love the look on her face - a true artist, for sure!

Unfortunately there are very few female photographers that I've found that are actually producing art nevermind well. You were one of the originals I happily stumbled upon and then to find out how multi-faceted you really are was just incredible. You're a wonderful role model

multicultural? well kids don't see race as an issue, so you've definately captured something quite 'telling' here.

I really love this shot. I love how her hat has the same vibrance and contrasting/complimenting nature as her green chalk. What I first noticed was even though she is in an alley way playing, she is spotlessly clean. It made me wonder a few things, like hmmm this child does not really belong here, she is like a bright flower that is blooming joyously in a concrete garden. The boxes also seemed interesting to me, not only because of their composition, but also because of how fresh and new they appear too. Even though they have been piled high, they have not been there long. The only things that seem to have been there long, is the wall, the ground, and the old graffiti of those who have left their mark on this world. I think in this photograph though, this girl has done a bit more then chalk up a wall to leave her mark.
