Description
One measure of how creative you are is how you respond to changes in your circumstances and environment. How flexible are you?
I'm going through many situations, simultaneously, that require me to be flexible in my approach and my thinking but it can seem a bit chaotic. The motion blur is intentional as a result.. the rest I leave up to you.
I don't expect many to favor this at all but as usual, it's personal
Note: It's a slinky.

great close-up, although personally I would have liked a little more focus on the curve, but if it was moving at the time, i understand this might be a little difficult
great photo

This is an imaginative shot. You've done well to convey the meaning from this image - both in the subject, and your description.
Alternatively, I think the image also works well as a surreal composition. Without your description, and the suggestive title, this picture could be interpreted in many ways. I prefer to "see" this image from the surrealist viewpoint - probably because I like to decipher images.
In this context, I sense conflicting emotions, confusion, and complexity. I like this piece, and must return to view more of your Artwork.

Eek. I think one of my problems has been being *too* flexible in some respects...when that happens, there's no foundation to call "home." Yeach. It's still a good photographic reminder of balance, either way.

Who walks the stairs
without a care
It shoots so high in the sky.
Bounce up and down
just like a clown.
Everyone knows its Slinky.
The best present yet
to give or get
The kids will all want to try.
The hit of the day
when you are ready to play
Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It Slinky, Itβs Slinky
for fun the best of the toys
It Slinky, Itβs Slinky
the favorite of girls and boys.

oh how i loved my slinkies....
*ahem*
we used to do this wave lab in physics class, where you and your partner would each take the end of a slinky, then sit fairly far apart and sned waves at each other. Was very cool. If you tried long enough you could hit the right amplitude and frequency to get a self sustaining wave that would never end...slinky would just bend and flex and be very cool...
but if somebody let go... oh the disaster and the tangley mess. almost impossible to repair
or if someone stretched it to far, it wouldn't go back to it's orignal neat coil...
i miss physics class
very nice slinky photo though

LOL a slinky!!!!!
I love those things! I must have had at least 10 of those as a kid... but who would have thought that a simple, yet amusing toy would make an interesting photograph?
I have just the perfect quote to go with this pic, though I forgot who said it:
"Dumb people are just like slinkies. You can't help but smile as they fall down the stairs"

..a slinky, a slinky, it's a wonderful wonderful toy..."
Now I cannot get that old jingle out of my head!
I dig this. I especially like the lack of discernable focal point as it disorients me. Leave it to me to enjoy being disoriented. Nicely done.

twists and turns at every bend that push and pull us all around...
Life does throw little obstacles in our way all the time, doesn't she? And every time we have to dodge and twist and figure out new and creative ways to get around it all. Like the effect of this image.. it can be dizzy-ing to deal with all that.... but at the same time, it's so damn gratifying.
You know... for most anyone, i would look at this and think it's just a blurry pic of a slinky. I look at this picture from you, and i know you put thought into it and i know it has meaning for you, personally. That makes me look at it harder.. that makes me want to search out the bits in this that have meaning... that's the power of a good artist..... when you know that their work has important intent and you look for it, and you see things that you otherwise would not be able to see. Wonderfully done, sweetie

Great capture Very original. I don't think I've ever seen a photo like this before. You don't see too many pictures of slinkies. LOL
But I really like how you shot it at a longer exposure to freeze some of the action. Great touch. Nice work

This is a great shot, indeed. A slinky can amuse me for hours. What is interesting, is that life is so precious, and can get so tangled up if you aren't careful, much like the slinky. Also, if you put it at the top of a steep staircase, it has a tendancy to whiz down, and tumble, whereas, if you put it on less of an incline, it moves much slower, with less of a risk of getting all jumbled. I was the master of getting them untangled when I was younger. It is my personality, to work until my fingers are bleeding, to bring harmony back to a chaotic situation. Some people would rather give up, and just beg for a new slinky. Not me, it was my special slinky, and I would do all I could to preserve it's fluidity.
Funny, really, the significance. I love the symbolism!

*sings the slinky song* Sorry, I promise this is going to be a serious comment, but the dang song got in my head.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I don't know if anyone else above has said what I'm going to say, I didn't bother to read them, I'm too hyper. Ok, so I really like that this isn't in focus. If this is supposed to represent your life as of right now, you say that its chaotic, well then it shouldn't be perfect and in focus, right? I'm probably stating the obvious, oh well. Don't be worried about other people not liking what you put out, either. I probably only get a page hit a day, but it really doesn't bother me, because I love what I do. I love my photography and my beautiful old Minolta and my random abstract pictures. Yes, obviously you get a LOT more than that, but my point is that REAL, TRUE art is something that means something to everyone, even if it only means a little. In this piece, I think without any description, most people would see this as a toy, something reminiscent of their childhood. BUT, my dear, you made it something special with your description, and brought us into the heart of the matter. And thats the mark of an amazing artist, which you obviously are.

my first thought was "oh it's blurry" but then i realized it's in movement and therefore in flux. it captures your concept perfectly. nicely done.
