Description
Large rough, gnarly, weathered treeleaves of green spades
limbs of dance
reaching up
reaching down
limbs of support
bringing up life water
food gathering
wind whispers
speaking of things
through the leaves
rhythmic swaying
timeless motion
speaking to me
the emotions swaying
I will be that tree
grounded yet wanting to fly
speaking yet whispering
of my determination
never to surrender
this feeling of strength
holding
surviving
enduring

Al ver tu foto me vienen a la memoria tantos árboles hermosos que al agrazarlos da la inmensa impresión que uno estuviese atado a la eternidad, especialmente en esos estados en los cuales la vida se esfuma de nuestras manos.

hey, that's nice! i did a photography assignment, focusing on banyan trees for a little over a month, and when i was through, i looked at trees very differently. i have some of them on my DA. it was one of the most enjoyable subjects i ever shot.

rachel and i live at the edge of an old growth forest .. some of the oldest mountains in the world .. i write a lot about the spirits that live around us .. some of our trees are almost scary .. and i get this idea they watch me on some nights (tonight in fact .. ) .. I loved your poem and picture ..

the decision to use black and white here is a very good one. it makes you really focus on the shape of the tree itself. i love trees. i've always wanted to one day do a series of trees. i think i've told you that before though. oh well, it bears repeating. thank you for a lovely image.
