What if Nuka had grown healthy?
Nuka would still most likely be the same, he would have a fuller, less patchy mane, a beard and moustache, with a well rounded lean build. Nuka lives in my AU verse quite happily, with Tifu as his wife.
Nuka’s actually name is Nukato (meaning sweet), unfortunately the name Nuka is thrown at him by Zira once she goes off the deep end when Scar was killed. Nukato’s father isn’t actually Scar in this universe, his father was a lion in Zira’s past pride, not much importance atm to the story.
When Zira is exiled for nearly murdering Kopa, Nukato was just a little bit older to determine for himself whether he wished to go with his mother, and he took the choice of not doing so. Sarabi and Sarafina were heavily involved in Nukato’s early years as a cub, and even though he was young, he could see that his mother couldn’t care less for him next to her crazy power trip of avenging Scar.
Nukato becomes an excellent healer under the Royal Healers Guild.
What if Scar had chosen Sarabi to carry his heir?
This heir would be a young Crown Prince Bakari, (meaning promising). Bakari was born before Mheetu, and would have remained in the Ndona Pride, if it weren’t for a certain incident.
Bakari was going for a royal lesson with his father, when he overheard a conversation with some of the hyenas about Simba and Mufasa. It wasn’t coherently clear about what they were discussing but it did peak his curiosity. He would go on to pester and probe Scar about it till Scar had a enough and decided to betroth Bakari to the pride who accepted it first.
Unhappy with this decision, Bakari couldn’t do much but carry on his duty. He said his farewells, and was taken to the Mbala Pride. He was betrothed to the eldest princess, she was a year older than him, and made Bakari feel better about the situation, the two later became very close and wed when they become older.
Bakari did attempt to go back to the Pridelands, but he was nearly mauled in the process by hyenas patrolling the borders, he just escaped with his life. Later on, he reunites with his family in the Pridelands after Scar’s defeat and Simba’s official coronation ceremony.
What if Simba had a sister?
I believe that Simba wasn’t an only child, he would have a sister at least. His sister is the second born, therefore being the Lion Guard leader; Jaha (meaning dignity), the fiercest.
She would grow up believing her uncle was trying his best, and suffering greatly from grief, being mostly sheltered from the harsh reality of the pride, getting a bombshell opened on her once her brother came back to life. Jaha would struggle to come to terms with the full scale of Scar’s ignorance and cruelty, but once she does, she moves on with her life with ease.
She later mentors Kion as the next Lion Guard leader, as well as to establish the Royal Guard alongside it.
What if Mufasa and Scar had a third sibling?
I gave them two extra siblings! The red maned lion was born after Scar, named; Machupa (meaning one who likes to drink), and the last born lioness; Sabah (meaning morning).
These two were the peacemakers between their older brothers, and had quite a close relationship with each other throughout their lives.
Sabah would one day be ambushed by a group of jackals poaching in the Pridelands, leaving her severely injured before the Lion Guard could come to the rescue, this also results in the exile of most jackals from the Pridelands. She thankfully survives, but with heavy trauma from the attack, seeking great comfort in her closest brother; Machupa. From that day on, they were as close as can be.
Sabah later joins the Lion Guard as the Strongest, alongside Machupa, the Bravest, and Scar.
The two are devastated at the loss of their oldest brother and nephew, leaving them to try to support Scar in their grief. However, over the course of Scar’s reign, they would clash and have heated arguments with each other, disagreeing on numerous instances. If Simba hadn’t come sooner, Scar would have planned an accident for the both of them.
Down the line, Machupa and Sabah become the official mentors of the Royal Guard and have their own families happily.
