(This is a group picture for the guild I'm in on Ragnarok Online, Well-Baked Cookies.)

Cookie girls in bikinis! \o/

I had the idea to draw a huge group picture for awile now, which is how the "Cookie Project" originally started. But then I realised how difficult that task was as more members joined and others left... I'm only one person! I'd have to be drawing all day to get everybody in, and it just doesn't work that way But then I thought one day, "Hm, why not draw all the cookie girls in swimsuits? It'd make a nice summer pic". I figured there weren't THAT many girls in cookies...

WRONG. D:

Let's see... the total amount of people in this picture is... 13?! Oh man, that's unlucky D: But yeah. For the past few days I've been hardcoreing it, drawing about 4 a day and then coloring all of today. I tried to include everyone I could think of... and at the same time work with my shrinking number of allowed layers x.x By the time I got to Mal I'd used up all the layers Open Canvas allowed me! Sheesh.

But anyways, drawing people always has a little bit of intimacy to it. After all, it takes about an hour for each sketch, so you end up in a way spending quality time with that person - thinking about what they're like, what kind of personality they have, what thier intrests are, etc. So I have a few notes about each cookie person that I drew

Jan - I think Jan was the first one I drew, which when I started this was around the beginning of this month I think. I can't really remember what idea I'd had in my head at the time, but I kinda regret drawing her first. Why? Well, drawing is kinda like excersizeing - you need to warm up. Jan is the first here so she's not as developed as the others... But I fixed her up and bit and tried to update her look a little. In the end I wanted her to look relaxed and satisfied. I almost wanted to paint her swimsuit orange like a lifeguard XD;;;

Me (Amber) - I think I drew myself second realiseing that I needed warming up a little too late. I didn't want my picture to stand out too much so I didn't put a ton of thought into it and kinda breezed through it... which made me end up with some crappily drawn hair that I ended up completely re-doing later on when I went back and updated stuff. I referenced the hair from the christmas card that Yris sent me She drew my sniper on it <3 I treasure it and keep it right on my desk! Oh, and the frisbee I'm holding is an inside joke... but originally I was gunna be holding a beach ball/volleyball, because I love volleyball But then it would've blocked too much of my suit.

Lum - Lum came after me. Again, I can't remember what my thought was at the time... But it musta been naughty I guess I showed Lum a sample of it awile ago and she said something along the lines of "I have a thong!". I didn't think it was too big a deal to be honest. Everyone knows Lum has big boobs, so it would've been too predictable to draw her with huge melons. So I drew her butt instead! I also ended up fixing her hair later on.

Yris - Yris and Prada were actually drawn at the same time because I wanted them to be (in a way) interacting. In the very early sketch they were just scribbles Later on when I picked up the drawing again I remember detailing Yris' hair... and thought she looked very much like a boy. I think I drew the hair too short. x.x And now that it's colored she looks like Sailor Mercury XD; I gave her a watermelon slice! Because... Yris likes food? And Prada's there because that's where the food is at! Oh, and her bikini is a pink gigham. Why? I dunno

Prada - As I said about Yris, she was drawn at the same time. Her pose was a little hard since she's bent over and all, and I'm not sure the anatomy is 100% correct, but I guess it looks ok. I didn't know what color to use (I tried blue, but then there was so much blue in that area) so I ended up useing purple. Oh, and I tinted Prada's skin a tad darker. I just imagine she'd have a bit more of a tan somehow

Ame - Although Ame's technically not a girl... he also IS, so... > Don't argue with me! I had to draw Ame! It would've felt wrong if I didn't. But anyway! I had alot of fun with Ame's pose. I love that hand T.T And the legs. But by accident I later saved the file wrong and ended up having to rip out Ame, Haruka and Heiwa from a previous sample pic... so alot of the quality was lost on the lines. I had to do alot of cleaning. I imagine Ame would have an awsomely dark tan somehow XD;; So... that's why. Yeah. Oh, and Ame's hair is red (like his HP) because I wanted more color variancy. I hope you don't mind Ame! <3

Heiwa - From the start I knew I wanted Heiwa to be spreading/holding a beach towel with the WBC logo on it, but I went through a few poses until I finally came up with this one (doesn't look like much in the end does it?). I was debateing wiether or not I should've painted her skin white like in the game or brown since she's black in real life x.x I always hate making those decisions. I've always prefered to be diverse however, so I opted for dark skin. I think it looks much cuter then if it had been white. Her hair ended up being lighter though XD Haha... and then I gave her yellowish eyes to complete the look! Lol... I'm such a failure. But I totally love her bikini top. I wasn't sure what to paint it, so I mixed a bunch of colors - so I got the idea to do a camoflauge (sp?) design.

Kitty - I noticed alot of girls in cookies have the same hairstyle O.o Kitty, Heiwa, Kokomi (Reira)... sheesh. I didn't want them look lke triplets, so I was careful to make each style slightly different. With Kitty I wanted a more slick look then Heiwa's wilder hair. In general I wanted Kitty to look sleek and relaxed. The kitty fan was added later along with the crescent hairpin Her swimsuit is supposed to be like a sunset. Kitty was actually the easiest to draw and color of all the girls O.o By the time I got to her coloring I was done in a flash... I felt like I'd missed something

Kazeru - I don't think I've ever really TALKED to Kaz, but I have a rough idea of what she's like :> I wanted her to look bright and cheery, and since I couldn't hold a beachball I thought it'd suit her better with her pose. I thought I was so clever because I used a circle stencil on my tablet to make the ball Cilo told me her eyes are dark brown, but, it didn't work well with her color scheme... it made her look too dark and closed in, so I made them brighter. Meh, sometimes you just have to make due Oh, and alot of girls like blue >.>

Brite - Brite was one of the easiest and hardest to draw at the same time... Her original hair was the upturned semi-short style... but it didn't suit her at all and was horribly drawn, so I switched to the long straight style I drew her in in the cookie project thread. It looks much better on her, I think, and next to my own hair it's my favorite But then she told me it was white and I died on the inside x.x White is so hard to render... that and black. But I think I managed? Originally Brite was gunna hold an umbrella, but I couldn't make it work with the picture.

Haruka - Haru's a nut So I drew her kinda child-like and silly. I made sure she was close to Lum in the picture since they're good friends. I was a little worried she'd look too much like Prada (since it's a very distinctive hairstyle O.o Hard to give it variation), so I think that's also why I went so overboard with her pose. I wanted her personality to be big. I couldn't figure out a good eye color for her, so I just made them silver.

Kokomi (Reira) - I don't really know Reira either o.o; I've seen her around and I know she's Kokomi as well... so I took Kokomi's image to draw. Everytime she posts I always stare at her avitar, so I ended up kinda mimicing that girl's face here. Someone HAD to wear a skirted bathing suit! The colors... I wasn't sure what to use. O.o Everytime I think of biochems I think of thier awsome red cape, so I was sure to add vibrant red.

Maluna (Tatenia) - I think Mal plays her gypsy alot more then her HP, so I drew her gypsy here I also wanted more balance with the short haired people, so it worked out XD When I wanted to draw Mal I found out I ran out of layers! So I had to make another save file and merge some other layers... It worked out, obviously. I gave her a frilly drink! TINY UMBRELLA FTW! Oddly Mal didn't take long to draw. I didn't really have a clear cut image in mind at the time, yet I just kinda spit it out. I guess I'm well oiled now

And that's everybody! As for the background - originally we were all on the beach by the sea, but the people sitting were gunna be on some big boulder or something. But when I was painting, I thought how much the color looked like the sand... and I got the idea for a big sand castle! I guess we took a Comodo fort
