For a while now I've been thinking of separating her from the WoF community, because, first of all,
shes a tribrid, which, isn't genetically possible (edit: ok i guess i found out it is possible but still) Second, I have a lot of cool ideas for her that i cannot use because of the limitations of the WoF world, which can only be possible if shes an animus.
BUT, she is kinda like my main "connection" I guess you could say, to the fandom sooo probably won't do that
just yet.
So if you are unhappy that shes a tribrid, or thinks shes op or anything, i hate to say it but i could honestly care less :3

Maybe you can do art of her wof version and her not-wof version, and for commissions you can choose whether you want someone to draw her wof version or her not-wof version.

This reference looks beautiful! The colors match so well and it's so clean and clear to look at, especially with the white outlines.
As for her new look, you certainly have stellar taste in design!
I would be very interested in seeing what you could come up with for her if you made an alternate non-wof version. That way you'll have both one for wof and one for experimentation! Having all possibility can be overwhelming, but you do have endless potential that way.
I am really curious about the smoke. I'd love to learn more about it, but I am not sure what questions to ask.

one thing i was thinking was, instead of maybe making nephthys not WOF more, how about have two separate characters? like for example, you have a nice, simple hybrid of nephthys that is WOF related. then you have THIS nephthys for what ever you have planned for her in the future! idk, i just want to say that bc you were one of the first people i saw on deviantart and got me into wings of fire bc of your art and if you didin't have nephthys anymore from WOF that would make me SAAAD . idk hope you like the suggestion tho! have a good day

Why isn't a tribred genetically possible? If you compare it to humans, I'm English, Irish, and Scottish. So technically aren't I tribred? My husband is like 8 different things. I think tribreds would be possible if not only the parents were different, but if the grandparents also were.

Im pretty sure they can be passed down for many generations.
Maybe it is possible? i just thought it wouldn't be since only two traits can fit in the Punnett square and not three...idk lol

Oh haha that's not how it works. The punnett square is only per dominant trait. But an entire dragon would have thousands of traits... You would have to do a HUGE punett square for that. It can get pretty complicated actually. In biology in grade 12 we had to make massive punnett squares for sweetpeas. 16 squares on each side sometimes. And that's just a puny flower. A human being or a dragon would get a massively complicated punnett square, of many different mixed dominant and recessive traits, not to mention hidden traits that the dragon would serve as a "carrier" that wouldn't show to the naked eye. Anyway yeah it's super complicated, those punnett squares they show you in school are way oversimplified lol. You could spend hours on one punnett square of a simple boring plant. I remember those hours of homework and how boring they were... It does have to do with generations though. It would probably span down generations upon generations, however, I really doubt any dragon in the tribe is 100 percent pure... There's constantly microevolutions happening from one generation to the next, it's basically impossible to have a purebred anything...I mean even a purebred border collie had to come from somewhere... They came from rough collies... And they all lead back to the wolf... It's way too complicated to pin down. Just remind anyone who disagrees with you that a simple sweetpea takes up at least 50 squares, and that's even simplified

I think Nephthys is a really unique character. I've absolutely adored her colors for a long time and think her design is SO cute. I more or less just wanted to comment that, technically, no dragon would just be two or three species-- with crossbreeding going back to possibly even before the Scorching, most dragons have at least a percent of each other tribe in 'em.
So with them being 75, 15 and 10%, while it's sure rarer, I wouldn't say it's impossible and nobody should ever get mad about it. So like, don't feel like you have to separate her or something. Of course, with the Animus bit, I completely understand not wanting to make Nephthys an Animus (I regret having like 5 animus ocs even though I probably have more than a hundred total ocs that I use as side-characters), but it's always your choice that people need to respect.
