My mother, brother and I, grew a garden for the first time in years. Plenty of corn, different types of beans and other veggies. The potatoes were huge. Tomatoes got hit by , as my mother says, the blight. Other than that we saved a bunch on groceries. I took a antique coal miners carbide lamp to find its value today. He got his optical lens and the first thing he checked was the country of origin. Good old USA. it is a shame that each item we look at is not American. He wanted to screw me on the lamp. I refrained from cursing...

Nothing like fresh veggies from the farm, (I grew up in Illinois)
Like your mom, that's the good ole American heartland of America.

I remember the fresh blueberries and peaches from Michigan, too.
At any rate, we have the fresh oranges, and strawberries form Florida, limes, lemons, mangoes, papaya, avacados, all that jazz.
Yeah, I have unknowingly been ripped off from buyers of my old vinyl records of the 60's and 70's, but I really needed the money.
I will not sacrifice my old sci-fi pocket books, some pulp books and sci-fi 'doubles'
Some books are worth $20 plus for the artwork alone.
Maybe I will go with ebay, and take a chance.

Yeah, that's the trouble, most of mine were mint or near mint condition.

My daughter had fun playing (wrecking) all of my Matchbox series cars and trucks, some still in the box from Germany.
