Description
This is the best drawing I have ever done. End of story.
Reference: my hand, and yes the eraser was actually on the paper.
Medium: #2 soft lead pencil
Time: About an hour and fifteen minutes with distractions (I was doing it during class).
I have no idea what the kanji on the sleeve says, and I probably did it wrong. I was just copying what was on my shirt.

i really love your hand drawing hte pear. I think you have protrayed your idea verry well. The idea of this type of drawing (a drawing of a hand drawing another object) is a bit overdone, but it never fails at attracting my attention, and probably others. the4 cute drawings on the sleve really add some personality, as well as the cross-hatching. your whading is spectacular and well placed withing the hand and sleve. I would really love to see more value throughout the piece, because the effect fades out without it, but your placement of value is tremendous. teh angles of the hand are slightly off, but that does not stop one from enjoying the piece. Some of your lines are shakey, like on the pencil, where they should be extremley crisp. It is okay to use a ruler, and i suggest so. Hands care particularlly difficult to draw because of their unique shape and angles, but i just suggest some practice on it. I find that if you have an angle that is really difficult (due to foreshortening or just because it is akward) it helps to take a photo and trace what you see. By tracing it, you are getting the exact image. Of course, this would just be for the sake of practice. Overall, our piece has an enjoyable and airy feel to it, but you could do well with some practice in value, and angles.

I almost never draw; I'm actually a writer. I just did this one day when I was bored and I have never been able to recreate the level of skill exhibited in it.

Good job capturing a difficult subject. Hands are rough. I always dived each finger into three distinct segments, like pinocchio fingers or something. lol

Lol. History is just so... boring. It's my only grade level class so it's blah. I sit there doodling (or in this case something more serious XD) and when the teacher finally gives up on getting the answer from the rest of the class she asks me. *sigh* I'd kill myself if I took honors history, though. XD

I like the way it is. Maybe you can scan it to bold the shades a little bit but i don't think you need to use Photoshop to make it better. Doesn't it feel like cheating?

I meant I used PS to clean up the photo, I didn't change anything about the drawing. My dA friends just wanted to see it and I can't get to a scanner until Sunday.
