don't get plastic toys
no Disney
no crappy kids music
don't spoil
don't be afraid to say no
They are welcome to cry about it
Don't let them eat sweets
or at least hide the sweets
don't let them see any violence

I will not be obssessed with vain preoccupations.  I will not use discriminatory references to differentiate.  I will not give them everything they think they want.  I will show them how to be creative.  The only shows worth watching are The Reading Rainbow and Sesame Street.  I won't make them listen to yippy-dippy kid"z" music.  REAL MUSIC.
I will not pretend that everythin is all right if it isn't.

I HATE WHINING!
I HATE FAKE CRYING!
I swear...if my kids ever do that I'm going ballistic.

I don't know, my mom did a lot of bizarro things when I was a baby but she said that as long as I know what's right and what's wrong I'm all set. And you left one out- read to the kid.

Well she let me do things like play with my food, and draw things everywhere, for the most part, at least, you know. Haha, no problem for the comments, it's fun.

I agree pretty much whole heartidly. Even on things which I loved as a small child, such as sweets.

Sounds pretty much how I was raised.

Except there are some good TV shows for kids out there. I think Play School is only in Australia though.
