I am sitting here a little
after 9
p.m.
I took a short walk to the
sidewalk and sat on
the concrete
The headlights passed ahead
Clear atmosphere
I am drowning in my hair smiling
to myself
because the perspective is so perfect.
Concrete stretches down, some orange cones
and cheap pillars to hold the overhang roof
of the stores barely anybody goes to
It's kind of like an old Western town
In the films I never watched, only heard about.
I feel perfectly peftect
after a couple minutes ago
before my walk
I leaned against a wall
and a board kept snapping back everytime I moved
the 30-40something smokers barely noticed
laughing outside the studio.
where A man called 1986 sat on a stool and played
his past to eager intellectual undergrounds
Reincarnated beats
80's have morphed into their idols.
Argyle, mustard yellow pants too short, self-conscious
hair, bashful smile of turtlenecked performers.
"We all know each other."
And so I felt
Comfortable.
in a surreal reality.
