1. Error Code 16 was first created on July 16, 2016. A day after Ryu was created.
2. Each character in EC16 has a birthday. Dib's birthday is October 30, Ryu's birthday is July 15, Amon's birthday is June 4, and since Zim never knew when he was hatched, I gave him a custom birthday "March 30"
3. The reason for Zim's birthday being on March 30 is because "Invader ZIM" aired on March 30, 2001.
4. "Error Code 16" is a fan comic based on Nickelodeon's show "Invader ZIM."
5. The plot of "Error Code 16" follows a common cliche in the Invader ZIM fandom; where Zim finds out he's not a real Invader.
6. The way Zim is portrayed throughout the entire comic is very out-of-character.
7. Jhonen Vasquez's Zim is very different from EC16 Zim. First, Zim would not have believed Dib when he told him that his mission was a lie. In EC16, Zim actually believed Dib the first time he told him.
8. Code, the comic's antagonist, is an Irken/Human hybrid created by two Irken scientists, Dex and Zod.
9. Code's DNA has a mixture of Lao's DNA, an Irken general that requested a son to follow her footsteps but passed away in battle.
10. She donated blood samples so the scientists could use her DNA to generate her artificial child. Unfortunately, Lao was killed in The Galactic War Of Mekrob when she was shot and her PAK shattered, destroying the life-clock, she didn't have 10 minutes to seek for help, therefore, she died instantly on the battlefield. Later on, when Tallest Red and Purple began their ruling, the scientists mixed Lao's DNA samples and a human blood test sample they collected a long while back, added the final codings, and as a result created 'Code 16.' So Code is generically Lao's son.
11. The human blood sample was taken when the two scientists crashed on Earth, during the time of WW2, and the Irkens had no idea where they were. Intrigued by the humans, they captured one of the Sargents from the US army, taking his blood, erasing the memory, and then leaving. The soon fixed their ship and returned to Irk before anyone could notice them.
12. Code has no knowledge of his biological parents (if we can even call them that.) Dex and Zod were ordered by the Irken Military not to tell him, for it may create controversy and confusion in the hybrid's mind.
13. Code was created by the Irkens to hunt down and kill the defective Zim, because it looks like the Tallest had enough of him already.
14. Code is often misunderstood as “Zim and Dib’s child” because if his similarities to Zim (green skin and antennae) and similarities to Dib (black hair and hazel eyes)
15. Code was originally asexual but I changed his sexuality to heterosexual (because I wanna give Code a cute girlfriend!)
16. Zim’s full name is actually Zimsera. He feared that it wouldn’t come off as ‘sinister’ so he changed it to ‘Zim.’
17. Dib secretly likes the name ‘Zimsera’ better so Zim gave him permission to be the only one to call him ‘Zimsera.’
18. Zim and Dib started forming a relationship after Code's arrival, which soon blossomed into a love for each other's company.

20. Irkens live in a society that condones inequality. Discrimination is strictly prohibited for it can lead to a punishment as severe as a death sentence. Irkens are only allowed to reject other Irkens under the Tallest’s consent. In other words, they don’t care who you are or who you love, you just have to be tall.
21. Dib's mother, before her passing, was not only an astronomer but also fluent in French!
22. When Dib and Gaz were babies, Norah (their mother) would sing to them in French so they would fall asleep. Gaz never puts too much thought into it whereas Dib adored the song and learned it by heart. He sings it to Zim sometimes to calm him down~
23. Although many people think otherwise, Ryu is actually heterosexual. He just enjoys BL (or ‘boy love’ for short) and thinks it’s cute. But doesn’t have any lustful feelings towards men. Rather just women.
24. Ryu has a girlfriend, and her name is Mariko.
25. Ryu wasn't going to be a main character, but the way he impacted Dib and Zim convinced me enough that he had to be one of the main characters in the comic.
26. In this comic, Dib isn't a clone created by his father and is, in fact, his biological son. Which means he had a mother.
27. It was originally planned for Ryu to be killed off in the comic as well but I couldn't. I feel like Ryu serves purpose to the protagonists in the story.

Code has psychopathy and antisocial personality disorder, Zim has depression and paranoia, Amon has PTSD and Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Dib has paranoia and is somewhat schizophrenic. Ryu is the only character that's mentally healthy. Well, Amber too, but...
29. [SPOILER ALERT] In chapter 9, Code kills Amber for "trying to boost Zim's confidence." Code successfully broke Zim in a way that he's scared to act by himself and needs companionship, like for example Dib's. Code wants to keep Zim in that state and eliminate anyone who motivates him.

31. In the comic, a couple of Deviant artists appear as cameos.
32. Because of his defectiveness, Zim is more emotional than the other Irkens.

Zim, as I said earlier, was diagnosed with a "glitch" in his system (depression, in Earth terms) before he even left Irk but would shrug off the negative feelings and continue with his plans of conquering the planet. Until he found out that his mission is a lie was when he started to show more visible signs of his already existing depression.
34. Zim and Dib still keep calling each other by insulting nicknames in a rather "playful" manner. Dib still calls Zim “space-boy” or “space-monster” while Zim calls him “human-filth” or “Dib-beast”
35. Irkens undergo aggressive psychological discipline training since the day they're released from their tubes. That's why Zim went from saying "I love you" in the episode "Parent Teacher Night" to "invaders need no one" in the episode "Bestest Friend."
36. Of course, these are Error Code 16 facts with some references to the actual canon world of Invader ZIM. Because of his depression, Zim's become less repugnant and more self-aware to the point where he's paranoid. It was hard for him to say "I love you" again as a result of years of intense brainwashing.
37. Zim apparently doesn't mind stupid outfits or dresses. Although he doesn't want to admit it to anyone (which includes the Diblet) No, I'm not talking about his tunic because a tunic and a dress are not the same things. I'm talking about the times he actually wore a dress and make-up in the episode "Walk for your Lives" and didn't seem to care.
38. Amon speaks both English and Arabic to his mother. Because the writer doesn't speak Arabic, all of the dialogue is in English
39. Dib is older in this comic, 14
40. Amon, even though he does not appear much in the comic, cares very much for his friends and especially his mother.
41. There's a cameo of an anime character within the skool, Mion Sonozaki from "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni."
42. Code is programed to emulate some of the same behaviors of a cat. When his pupils are constricted and create a slit-like shape, his mood is more likely to be ambient or, in most cases, predatory. However, when Code's pupils become fully dilated, he's either in a calm state, in pain, or ready to fight.
43. Because he's a cross between a human and an irken, Code has..um..human reproductive organs..and this petrified scientist Zod gravely (as seen in Chapter 1.)
44. Aiko (Ryu's mom) tought Ryu to cook for himself from a young age.
45. One of Ale's imaginary childhood friends makes many cameos in the comic as one of the skool students. She's the girl with fiery orange hair and a red shirt. It turns out she has a name; it's Emma.
46. Ale has been working on this project for over a year. First page released on July 16, 2016. The comic is still not completed.
47. Amon reappears in the comic in chapter thirteen
48. The comic was originally going to be completed by August 2017 but the date was pushed forward due to the author/illustrator working on different projects along with issues in her personal life
49. All the characters in Error Code undergo a change of style and personality as the series progresses due to the long amount of time the artist has worked on the comic
