this is gonna sound dumb but should i put a filter on this for strong language?anyway
i haven't done an "ale's problems" for a while and i wanted to share this. i'm returning to school soon and one thing i am not looking forward to are people looking over my sketches and teasing me for them. i'm not easily offended or overly sensitive. i can take a joke. i respect other people's opinions and interests, even if i don't agree with it. i'm very open to constructive criticism because it helps me grow as an artist. i've come across many people who think that criticism is a bad thing, but i completely disagree. it's not always a negative thing. if anything, i enjoy receiving constructive criticism from other artist or art enthusiasts. but that's besides the point.
offending and belittling someone for their art is not constructive criticism. calling someone weird or repeatedly insulting a person's artwork is not constructive. it's destructive. if you're going to be rude and insult me, then please don't even look at my art. luckily this hasn't happened to me on Deviantart but it has happened to me many times in real life at school. this school year, i want to avoid drawing in public as much as possible.
haha but what do i know. i'm probably the only person who complains about this. i don't even have enough strength to capitalize the letters in this paragraph.

mostly internet cuz my real life friends gave me good advice mostly they didn't draw but good at critique(in a good way,of course)
like why would people bother leaving out mean things to things they don't like they have no respect to the artists that way at all and it counted as cyber-bullying as well
still we gotta stay strong with that tho,dear

I HAVE THIS EXACT PROBLEM
Everybody asks me what I am drawing, and if it's Zim this is what happens:
Person: Ohh she's cute!
Me: No.
Person: No?
Me: It's a HE..
Person: THAT'S A BOY?!
Me: *sigh* yes
Person: Boys don't HAVE hips like that *blah blah blah*
Me: *walks away*
And everybody gets pissy when they figure out that Zim and Dib are both male characters. I WILL DRAW WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT HOWEVER THE FUCK I WANT!!

UGH same =_= It's alright man, we all need to vent a little. The way that I draw boys and girls are practically the same, hinting the shoulders. For example, Ryu is a very feminine-looking boy yet that does not mean he's gay. Most people in my school associate homosexuality with 'being feminine.' Like, there are 'masculine' gay men out there, I've met one myself. Even if the character is gay or not I still get picked on...
And usually, when it comes to drawing gay characters in school, I avoid it like thE PLAIGE...can't do that shit in my school. i avoid drawing couples in general, because what's the fuckin point. xD
