It's not a failure! The colours are very vibrant and the palette works fantastically. And it's not as confusing as you think it is! It actually gives your piece a sense of 'movement', which is something you'd want from an action shot like this.

Wow that makes a big difference. The picture really pops now and the contrast makes everything distinguishable.
Sometimes, even though we work very hard special effects and think they improve the piece in the moment, they don't and the picture is better off without them. I am a graphic designer so I have this problem a lot, and it is frustrating to me. But I learned that if you have the problem that a piece is not "reading" correctly to the eye of your viewer, try putting it in grayscale. This way you can see the contrast and true tone value of each of your colors. For example, although pink is a different color than blue, they could have the exact same tonal value, so the colors will blend together when you look at them. Even though you know one is blue and the other is pink, it is hard to quickly distinguish where one color ends and the next begins if they have the same tonal value.
