I did very much the same process when working on Irene, actually; though it was more deciding between a number of characters.

it was a lot of fun, playing with design and different looks. i always wish i had spent more time in the planning stages on my drawings, and i was much happier with how the character came about because of this preliminary work. (although i probably still should have done more ._.)
