Description Wendigos definately need more love, they're so badass and can be portrayed in so many different ways. Fuck yea Native American mythology!

And I'm too lazy to explain exactly what a wendigo is, so if you wanna know, Google that shit XP

There will be a colored version of this up soon.

If you drew this in 07, I can only imagine how it would look if you drew it now. Can't wait to see the colored version.

Wow! Awesome portrayal! Have you ever checked the group "Battle Artists"? The theme for this weekΒ΄s battle is precisely the Wendigo! so thereΒ΄ll be a lot more versions of this creature poppinΒ΄up in DA in about 8 days! LOL
I was checkin some versions for inspiration and yours definitely is top notch! I was thinking you should have entered the battle, your Wendigo would be a hard one to beat

The Wendigo IS open to interpretation, as it's a possessive, cannibalistic spirit, and holy hell, I cannot even express my love for this picture.

+1 fave

What I usually see a monster, there will be a maiden, kind of like Beauty and the Beast. When I look at the many Wendigo pictures, there isn't one single love story!

better watch out for us canadians, we are all evil monsters that eat babies for breakfast every morning. and those moose are scary as s***.

just a warning.

so what all is this thing made up of? i can see human, bear, elk, fox, and tree(?).

regardless it's rather interesting.

OCMonsterFactory In reply to clouded-wisdom [2011-04-16 21:46:22 +0000 UTC]

the wendigo is pretty much described as someone who was tranformed into the monster from practising canniballism. i guess in this piece it shows all the victims of the wendigo have only become part of it and fed the beast more flesh and blood.

props to the artist

I hope you don't mean like in those stupid Twilight books.....I am basing this entirely on the commercials but I think that is enough evidence

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OCMonsterFactory In reply to chaosotaku13 [2011-04-19 19:22:33 +0000 UTC]

oh god no, i hate twilight. to me, it seems innacurate. vampires/werwolves are not human, just humanoids that can speak and have a few crazy abilities. why would they fall in love with a human, which could be considered their food? even if that did happen, i dont think lycanthropes would live in human societies for their protection. they'd ditch, and go as far as possible. plus, vampire don't sparkle...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaosotaku13 In reply to OCMonsterFactory [2011-04-19 22:27:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh thank god....I honestly would have lost a little respect for you you thought the "monsters" in twilight were cool.....you want to know a good and bad werewolf movie

Bad......Blood and Chocolate
Good......Dog Soldiers

oh I've never been too creeped out by his work....though I didn't like Pet Semitary since it was death this mengitis that......but I've read about 17 of his books and it was the only full novel I didn't like.....he and I have similar viewpoints on a lot of things and he only writes the scary things that he does to expose them to the public eye
