These are visually adorable. I was surprised and almost saddened that
she turned to stone in that last panel though. It must be part of some soft of
nightmare since he seems to be peacefully sleeping in the previous panel there.

You captured the mother-child moment so well here. The rich dark background colors allow the characters to be highlighted and focused on. Rain's expression in the middle panel is brilliant. I really like the mother character and hope you use her more often.
