I can imagine Law sitting alone and wishing Corazon was still alive but then again, I think Corazon lives on in Law's heart. I've been drawing a lot of Corazon lately in sketches...the most recent was of Law looking up at him. What would Law have been like if Corazon was still alive? Would he still have formed the Heart Pirates?Btw, I drastically reduced Corazon's size...he's so damn tall!!!!

It's confirmed that Law deepest wish was to see Corazon revived and DoFlamingo suffering instead. In one of the more recent episodes of the anime, he asked for this as his dying wish before DoFlamingo shot him ten times for his impudence after seeing "Corazon" printed on his jacket. Defying that monster right to the end.

Ikr T_T I haven't watched the anime since August (before Cora-san's death) because I knew it would really upset me but I know what happens because of the manga. the whole Dressrosa arc was a little messy but I think Oda wrote Law's story and past really well

Dressrosa's really set the scene for everything else that's to come in the New World so it should be interesting to see what happens next

Punk Hazard actually set the scene. Fishman Island really wasn't too much different from what we had encountered at Arlong Park or on any other island thus far. There was even a connection to the Arlong Park arc with Fisher Tiger and his crew of the Sun Pirates. Arlong went rogue after Tiger was killed, even though the crew had SAVED Koala and treated her like one of their own.

Actually, yes that's definitely true. I think Punk Hazard is overlooked a lot (like I just did xD ) but really, that's where it all started. Fishman Island was kind there to set the scene of things a bit; to clear up some of the stories like Arlong's and Fisher Tiger's but it also demonstrated how different the New World is. Plus, Big Mom finally entered the scene (which Luffy took amazingly perfect advantage of as well xD )

I think the New World arcs are going to demonstrate a lot of character growth, especially for Luffy as he's now lost (another?) member of his crew and he's beginning to learn that you can't just fight your way to the top; it's much more complicated than that. Fishman island was also the first island that Luffy 'claimed' which in turn is likely to add more aggravation to the Big Mom case. It should be interesting to see how Big Mom and Kaido arcs turn out and whether Blackbeard and Shanks will get involved

He probably claimed it in tribute to Ace, as it was Whitebeard's former territory before Marine Ford. Fishman Island I mean.

That's true, but I think Luffy's morals extend beyond that slightly. In the 'conversation' (I use the term lightly....) between Big Mom and Luffy, he mentions something about it 'being wrong to attack an island that was just saved' or something along those lines. There is also a running theme throughout One Piece about Luffy helping those in need and those who ask for it so I think he would also want to preserve Ace and Whitebeard's presences and memories by protecting the very island that was once theirs

I thought the chapter was perfect even though it was sad. It was very godfather 2 and then Oda-sensei added the gut wrenching Cora-san "I love you" (ripes my heart out)
and then jumping into the present day fight with law vs. doflamingo and law messing with doffy about the D.

Ha ha, I really hope Law avenges Corazon and gets his own revenge on Doffy...and not just Luffy
I re-read Law's past again and it's interesting to see how Law's relationship with Corazon changes and also how he perceives Corazon. Law is supposed to be an extremely smart kid who behaves much older than he is, though Corazon treats him as a young child, referring to his Devil Fruit as 'magic'....but i'm not complaining cos it's so lovely =*.*=
Lol, I think Law fans all over the world had their hearts broken...just like the Ace fans

Also I love the whole, "magic" part. I always felt like corazon was trying to bring back or impose the innocent of a child back into law.
That's why I found their relationship so touching. Corazon never forgot he was just a child even though law is
very much broken when he first appears.

Corazon's mission from the Marines was to stop children joining the Family and he managed to change Law from that child who wanted to kill everything to one who deeply cared for him and finally regained his childhood.
