I lik your vision of Lilith very much. Your depiction of her suggests that she is much more than what you said in your description. And she is.

what is it exactly?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SilentArtists In reply to moonxels [2011-08-01 11:18:53 +0000 UTC]

it is a montage with various interpretations of Lilith (both the mesopotamian and judean version) but it will be in a neutral way. That means i will not put Lilith in neither a negative or positive light. And therefore the video will also not be religious or morally offensive.

Also, she's known as Adam's first wife, before Eve. Adam and Lilith were both created at the same time, in the same way, (from dust,) making them equals. When they decided to make love, Lilith, being the smarter of the two, realized that because of the way their bodies were made, it would be better if she were on top. Adam wanted to do it just like the animals, and have himself on top. Lilith tried to compromise by saying "Well, why don't we just do it side by side, so we'll both be equal?" Adam threw a tantrum and demanded that he be on top. Fed up, Lilith left him and vowed revenge on all men.

Adam demanded God give him a new wife, one who was more passive and submissive. God then created Eve, from Adam's rib, so that she would be more docile and obedient. Lilith, on the other hand, felt a mix of emotions toward Eve. Jealosy, for being the new wife. But also, in a sisterly way, pity; because Eve was doomed to never realize her true potential as a woman. So as a way to help her half-sister become equal to Adam, and possibly even greater than Adam, as the ultimate revenge on Man, Lilith turned herself into a serpent, and gave Eve the forbidden fruit, so that Eve would at the very least have the ability to become an equal to Adam.

Yeah, Lilith is a very complex character. LOVE the picture!

I read a lot, so yeah. It's not mentioned in the canonical King James Bible, (which is a horrible mistranslation of the original Greek and Hebrew texts, anyway!) but it IS mentioned in the "forbidden" books of the Bible. Or in other words, the ones that flew in the face of what the early church patriarchs thought, in THEIR opinion, should be Christianity.

Just another example of Man painting Woman in a bad light.
