Hey everyone!!117th page of my "Explorer's Notebook" for the "Animal of the Month" at : the Common Yellow Scorpion!!
This tiny scorpion lives in dry and generally hot areas around the Mediterranean Sea, although it has been found above 1000m of altitude in Spain, where it snows in winter. Their venom has been studied a lot (indeed, you'll find more websites about that topic than about the animal itself
), it is not so bad in their Northern range, but can be deadly in the South. They are nocturnal and carnivorous, eating mostly spiders... and this paragraph is really that short, because really, I haven't found much about them online... if someone has more info to suggest, I'd be happy to learn more about them!About the drawing: it was really interesting, "architecturally", to discover how scorpions are made and how they move
