Hi Guys!!
Here is my 1st ever attempt at using pastels Last year, as a reward for a difficult year, I bought myself a small box of Polychromos Pastels, but never got the time and/or the energy to try them... I had read that one should preferably use colored paper with them, but I made this 1st try on white paper, because I wanted to get used to the medium first, before using my very expensive colored paper

As usual when I'm discovering something new, I tend to go back home and draw a mountainscape (I think, back at school, that ALL my firsts with a new medium were mountainscapes ) ... so I know this is nothing special and full of flaws, but I had a lot of fun with my pastels and colored fingers what I quite like about it: the textures on the mountains, it's quite nice... and now I've learned to add the details (i.e. the flowers on the hills) AFTER finishing the background, otherwise it gets mixed

and you?? are you going to try a new medium this year?
