Chapter 6

"Look!"

That night Doctor Val Latro could not sleep. It was not because of the owl that was hooting in the distance, it was not because of the full moon, it was not even because of the snore of her companions. (For one thing they did not snore (well... may be Hieronimus Fell did... a little...) for the other they did not sleep themselves).
It was because of a strange, VERY strange noise. A noise close to that produced by a child playing a wooden flute, a cat being stuck in the chimney and a cow being lost in the hills.
'What can be that?' asked Sir Roderick who was very much disturbed to hear something he could not explain.
'Wish I knew...' sighted Doctor Latro who was keen to know herself. And as she walked up and down the bank of the river trying to figure that out, suddenly she saw a strange ceature reflected in water!
Immediately she called Sir Roderick and they stared into the pond not trusting their eyes. For before them - reflected in water there was....
'Its a Grüne Kuh!!!' cried out both scientist and started dancing and hugging in joy!
They have finaly seen the legendary dragon with their own eyes!
Unfortunately only as a reflection, for when they looked up the hill - the dragon was already gone...
Hieronimus Fell claimed later that he saw it sitting there, howling to the moon... But he kept quiet for he thought the expedition lasted long enough and it was high time to go home...
