Roughs are in! SO LATE, OH MY GOD I COMPLETELY FORGOT. ;_; Things have been crazy here with floods (thankfully now well on their way to being over, but there's still big pools of water sitting around - and our garden smells like rotting, it is so foul, guys. But thank everything that it's not worse, like it was for some people. I'm thinking of you guys.)

Anyway, I never really liked the first two pages of thumbnails I had (apart from the opportunity to draw Joren & co. as a gang from, like, West Side Story, obviously) so with a bit of juggling and editing I think I've managed to cut them out completely. WHICH IS GREAT. Not only do I get rid of some crappy pages that just weren't working, I've also cut out a load of work for my hands, which is fabulous because the carpal tunnel syndrome is really not happy right now. Sigh. At least I have discovered that with my LOVELY NEW TABLET (I got it for myself as a graduation present and I love it so much oh my god I need to name it) it is so much less painful to draw digitally than it is to draw traditionally. I'm not entirely sure why (thickness of the tablet pen? leaning at an angle? idk idk somehow making these adjustments for traditional drawing doesn't help??) but as long as I make sure to do things in small doses it's currently manageable AND SO FUN I FORGOT HOW FUN ART WAS I HAVE MISSED IT SO UGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHG

Uh. I lost the point somewhere. Uh, I might adapt the Joren gang idea for part of a cover, but not sure how, and I might have to juggle a couple of things now that I'm going into the inking stage - oh and a couple of character designs are wrong, I realised (especially Vinson, like what) so I need to change a few faces that will appear. ANYWAY. This is the new page 1, hope you like it and everything, if you want anything explaining just ask. It now starts with Merric being all like "I AM CALLING JOREN OUT UGH" and Kel being like "no bro chill it's the holidays and we should be noble about this" except far more meaningfully obvs.

As an aside, I am super proud of these roughs? Like this page less so (I mean, have you seen Merric's face in that terrible perspective shot?? The rest is okay though, I guess, haha) but in general I'm really happy because I genuinely haven't drawn anything in months and yet they look pretty good by my standards. So yep. PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT.

Advice/constructive criticism/opinions very welcome! And just ask if any of the panels/pages aren't clear, we're at the stage where I really need to know if anything doesn't work
