I really like it how you still depicted her eyes as being derped, but in a subtle and respectful way.
I don't follow that fanfic crap and am almost completely an utter outsider to the Doctor Who world, so I don't really relate to this pairing on that sort of level, but you can tell just by this pose what these ponies mean to each other.
