Although Anime is such a brood and steriotyped catagory i know exactly what you mean and how you feel. Anime is japanese for animation

Manga would be even worse. I hear teachers at art school all the time ask if anyone draws 'manga' style. That's literally saying 'do you draw comics style.'

well, it's an opinion and I know about it in my skin because I study in an art school for 3 years.
But "anime" is a word for animation only, that's why I think it's wrong.
many of manga drawings *are* comic drawings. Unless the person is using manga/anime to create art (like Takashi Murakami or Yoshitomo Nara).
For many people "manga" will do. Like me. *points*

I think my message came across wrong. I don't think that people should say they draw 'manga' style, because manga does not actually have any identifying style. Manga=Comics. That's really all I meant.
