Won't put any definite spoilers here in the artist's comments, but I want to warn you all that I have no control over the comments, so don't read any of this IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE END OF MERLIN SEASON 5!! You really really don't want to get spoiled, I promise

And I certainly don't ship this pairing, but the moment was adorable ^^
Slowly working my way up to a Merlin & Arthur tribute~
I tried out a new style for this- kind of quick and messy (there was no way in hell I was going to draw every link of chain mail o.0), copied (not traced) from a screenshot of episode 13.
Seriously, if you've never watched Merlin, or haven't finished it, go watch it now!! Or if your an American like me, but unlike me, can wait for it to premiere on television, the first ep of season 5 was on last Fri on SyFy so you still have time to catch up!

This is amazingly done. In the preview it looks like a photo/screen shot and even looking at it now it still does. This is beautiful. In addition, THE FEELS IN THE SCENE AND EPISODE!

I think the entire Merlin fandom was crying. Not a dry eye that entire week after it came out, maybe longer. I voted for a fandom group hug on tumblr.

yeah... i always hoped that they'd do something 2 link the story to the original story (like kill of everyone else but merlin and tell him he's got to wait for them 2 b reincarnated or something...) there was also that dream morgana had where merlin (as an old man) told her she'd been warned when she begged for mercy as she died, but they never ended up using it.

How could you not get those amazing feels!? It was just so....gah, emotional!!
Part of me definitely did die at the end of that episode. I just sat there for several minutes afterwards kind of stunned and in physical pain because my heart was so broken it was ridiculous.
