well i agree with the fact that your universe cross with Burton's one (mostly on this pic, i saw a very look alike creature @ his exhibition, a 2D drawing, if i find it i 'll show you ), but anyway you "do" it on a different way, Burton is far more twisted in his drawings, sometimes very fuzzy, quite impossible to do on other medias, same universe, different writings

Thanks, I think what you said is very true I often think of it as this: I like Burton's movies, but a lot of what is great about them was done by other very talented artists. He has a great imagination, but the execution of those ideas can be lacking. That's why my heroes are the artists that worked on films like Nightmare and Coraline

true, burton's talent is in his head not in his hands, he said himself that his priority wasn't to draw like a god and drawing truely realistic humans didn't interest him, even if he was in Disney's animation studios at his begins

That's a great way of putting it, I feel the same way. I've done life drawing and I just found it boring :/

I'll admit that it's similar to Burton's early movies. It's a shame that he has a monopoly of the dark and strange.

Haha I know right. I kind of hate how people always refer to him when they see some piece of art with an old dead tree, or something in the shape of a spiral (two overused Burton motifs).
Also, the stripey purple snakes with sharp teeth remind me of the worms of Saturn in Beetlejuice, which also made an appearance in Nightmare Before Christmas.

Haha Unknowing idea theft. It tricks even the best of us.
When I'm writing and I think of a great line, I always wonder if I've heard it somewhere before, unconsciously ripping it off.
