What may have made it scarier is to add a noise whenever the your character comes a little closer or distortion in the sound in general that is small but puts a big impact. You have the right tone and all just need another que (hope I spelled that right) to draw attention to the scary parts. That would me my best advise on that though.

Not really. It is just a case of learning how it is done. The layers took a very short time each to actually draw. Exporting into a file that can be uploaded on DA is a bit fiddly, but I can help you with that at the time if you like.
