Description The smell of the Alaska spring was in the air. Mornings we more peaceful then ever. Bird sang softly, while the grasses and bushes poked through melting snow. Today would be a wonderful day for a hunt, Jay thought. He gathered his needed things and whistled for Verine. The dark tokota bounded out of the tokota house and straight to his side, tail wagging. She had grown so fast, from her small pup frame, to her now sturdy and ferocious looking self. She was a playful sweet heart though.

"We need to hurry along now. I need to meet up with some people to take their tokotas out hunting with us." Jay threw the saddle onto his young mounts back and cinched it just tight enough.

They made the journey towards  town and met up with some of the handlers. They gave some instruction for jay on what they liked and didn't like, and their strengths and weaknesses. Jay knew Kangee's owner quite well, as the were tribe mates. He was still getting to know fang's owner though. He nodded in acknowledgment of their requests and demands and took mental notes about the two tokotas.

Jay was an excellent tokota trainer. He had this finess about him when he is with tokotas, that otherwise didn't have. Fang and Kangee took right to him. Even though Kangee's shy demeanor kept himself from getting to close to the other tokotas. Fang was just happy to be out on a hunt.

The traveled for an hour or so until they reached the top of the ridge. Jay untacked Verine and sent her on her way. The female tokota got very serious about hunting. The submissive tokota sniffed around, smelling the caribou near by. Jay signaled Verine to lead the hunt. She excitedly took charge. Over looking the valley, there was a large herd of caribou. She whined quietly in excitement. Kangee sniffed the air around him, waiting for his signal to start making his way down into the valley.

Kangee and Fang stood side by side while Verine kept a close watch on the caribou movement. She was a very strategic tokota when it came to hunting. She looked back at her owner and he nodded. She gave a powerful growl and the three tokotas silently made their way down the embankment. It wouldnt belong until each tokota would bring home their kill.
