“Ugh it’s too hot!” Sabo says as he and you are walking through an islands summer festival.

You look at him in confusion. “You’re made of fire now right? How can you still get hot in the summer?”

“I can’t help it… How much longer do you want to stay here? I need to get back to my paperwork.”

“Oh, no you don’t! Dragon gave us this day off so you can go have some FUN! If you even know how to have it!”

“I KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN!”

“Oh yeah?! Prove it blondie, for the entire day you are to stay with me and have fun! If at the end of the day you still regret not working I’ll take over your cleaning duties for a week!”

He crosses his arms over his chest with a smirk. “A month!”

You twitch an eyebrow in irritation then extend a hand out for him to shake. “Deal, but you have to actually try to have fun!”

He nods as he takes your hand and shakes it. “Fair enough. So, what should we do first?”

“How about we get you some ice cream to cool you down flameo?”

He grimaces at the nickname. “Only if you don’t call me that…”

“Fine…”

The bet was on as the two of you start making your way to the food stands.

Hours have passed and you were having the time of your life with Sabo. The two of you have tried all of the food in the stalls and now you’re facing off against him in the stall games.

“You’re going down Sabo!” You declare as the two of you are having a water gun shooting contest.

“I don’t think so (y/n)!” He says as the two of you are neck and neck in the contest. The two of you keep it up when you accidentally miss the last target causing Sabo to win.

“Haha! Alright!” Sabo says with a smirk.

“Aww, no fair!” You puff your cheeks in a pout as Sabo pokes your cheek to tease you.

“Better luck next time. I’m sure the results would stay the same though.”

“Oh yea?” You grab your water gun and squirt Sabo in the face. “I got my target this time! That ought to cool you down flameo!”

He grits his teeth as he grabs his water gun and fires at you. “Quit it with the nickname!”

You dodge his water gun with a smirk as you refill your water gun. “It’s on now!”

The water war has commenced while ignoring the protests of the stall owner as water flies everywhere. Neither of you stop until the both of you were completely soaked.

“THAT’S ENOUGH!” The stall owner yells as he takes back both of the water guns. “You’re both banned from the stall! I demand compensation!”

Sabo nods while holding back from laughing as he hands him some money to pay him back. “I apologize for the mess.”

The two of you leave while Sabo dries himself off with his devil fruit abilities.

“I gotta say you’re starting to get the hang of your brother’s- Sorry…”

He shakes his head with a soft grin. “Don’t be. I’m glad to have Ace’s devil fruit. We should do something about you though. You’ll catch a cold with those clothes. I don’t want to risk burning you by trying the same technique I used to dry myself off.”

You tilt your head in thought when you look to see a kimono stand ahead. “I know what to do! I’ll be right back!”

You run ahead to the stand while Sabo stares at the stand in shock. He anxiously waits for you to come out until you walk out wearing a (favorite color) floral kimono. “What do you think Sabo?”

He blinks in surprise while lightly blushing. “I-it’s nice…”

You look at him in surprise before grinning. “Thanks! Come on! The sun’s starting to set, so the fireworks show should be starting soon!”

You grab him by the arm and half drag him to the field where the fireworks show is going to take place.

You and Sabo take a seat at the clearing where the other patrons are waiting for the fireworks.

You grin with excitement while waiting for the show to start causing Sabo to chuckle. “Do you really like fireworks that much?”

You eagerly nod. “Yup! It’s always been my favorite part of summer as a kid. In the past few years I haven’t been able to go see any because of missions so I can’t wait!”

He looks at you with a soft grin when the announcer starts talking through a den den mushi. “Attention everyone! I’m sorry, but the equipment for the fireworks are broken. We are unable to launch the fireworks, so we have to cancel tonight’s show…”

Everyone in the audience groan in disappointment as they start leaving.

You look down sadly causing Sabo to place a hand on your shoulder. “Are you ok (y/n)?”

You nod while softly grinning at him. “I’m fine Sabo. We should get going to enjoy the rest of the festival. We still have to make it so that you don’t regret not working!” You walk away with him while he looks at you softly and try to enjoy what’s left of the festival.

Hours have passed and it’s now 11:30pm when you two start leaving the festival. “I had a great time Sabo! So what’s your verdict on today?”

He shakes his head causing you to look at him in confusion. “The day hasn’t ended yet (y/n). I have one more thing I want to do in order to not regret not working.”

“What?! Why didn’t you tell me?! The festival’s over now!”

“Exactly! I can’t do it unless the others left. Come with me!” He grabs your arm and takes you back to the clearing where the fireworks show was supposed to take place. “Now then, in order to fulfill my wish I need you to take a seat.”

You comply as you sit down while Sabo gets some distance from you then closes his eyes. When he opens them he starts shooting fireballs into the sky which turn into different kinds of patterns.

Fire flowers, stars, dragons and many more that you’ve never seen before light up the night sky causing you to stare in awe.

You don’t keep your eyes off the sky as you try to take in every firework Sabo shoots out for you. Sabo glances over to you and grins in satisfaction as he gets ready for the grand finale.

He bombards the sky with fire flowers causing the sky to look like a flower field until the start falling and Sabo cancels out midair by shooting at them one by one until they all faded.

When the sky cleared you couldn’t help but run up to Sabo and hug him. “That was awesome Sabo!”

He softly chuckles as he hugs you back. “I’m glad you like it.”

You let go and look at the clock to see that it’s midnight. “The day’s over now. So, do you regret not working?”

He shakes his head. “Nope, I had a great time. Looks like you won the bet.” (Seeing her smile like that made it all worth it.)

“Great! Can I change my prize though?”

He quirks an eyebrow. “Depends on what it is.”

“It’s a surprise, but you gotta close your eyes.”

He looks at you skeptically but complies as he closes his eyes. He freezes in shock as you place your hands on his cheeks and lean forward to land your lips onto his.

His eyes open in shock before kissing back and snaking his arms around your waist. When the two of you break for air you pant with a smile. “Thank you for the great fireworks show! I won’t forget it!

He smirks as he keeps his arms around you. “Anytime (y/n). If you ever want a fireworks show I’ll be happy to give you one. For a kiss of course.”

You lightly blush but smirk back. “Sounds good to me! We should get back though, we gotta work tomorrow. Good night, my dear flameo!”

You kiss his cheek causing him to be distracted long enough for you to swipe his hat before running back to the inn causing him to look at you in shock before giving chase. “Give me back my hat and don’t call me 'flameo'!”
