Description
July 2014Deinonychus Antirrhopus portrayed in the way modern raptors are. It makes sense, seeing the genetic correlations, and certainly looks cool... and grumpy...
Enjoy!

Aww, don't be a grumpy raptor! Here, have a nice rat
Have lips that cover the teeth been proven yet? I agree they're probably more likely, but personally I like seeing their toothy grin xD

This isn't a fact yet. It's more a matter of interpretation. I see more advanced theropods having lips, just like most of terrestrial reptiles today. It allows dinosaurs to breathe in through the nose without losing air or getting dehydrated. However, modern crocodiles don't have lips. I think there is a valid explanation under this: Unlike dinosaurs, crocodiles have a bony plate on the roof of their mouths and a valve that seals off their throats, so they can catch prey underwater without drowning.
All relates to lifestile. I see dinosaurs living more like lizards and monitors (in a way, even if they're more closely related to birds) , than crocodiles.
And it definitely looks cool!

Wonder why he's grumpy? Maybe the shampoo he got for his floof didn't have the results he expected? xP
(Sorry, had to get that out. Friend and I have been joking about that for a while now )
Very beautiful painting, I must add :>

Thank you, and that was funny
The reason it looks so grumpy is in fact because of the meaty broow that birds have today. Look at an eagle for example. The eye is actually bigger than in pictures, and fully round. However, it keeps that creepy and grumpy look, right because of the large broow that half covers the eyball.
Hence you see this :3

x3
Yeah the eagles often look like they're angry and scowling at something heh. Just like a lot of lizards tend to look like they're smiling or laughing. ^^
Dinosaur shampoo hm... I bet Spinosaurs would have shampoo that is scented like seafood.
What's with so many soaps and shampoos that are scented like food anyway? XDΒ Watermelon, citruses, pomegranate... I can totally see "modern" dinosaurs having shampoos and soaps scented after their foods as well. Well sorta anyway o.o

Heh, when I read Grumpy Raptor, I thought it was going to be somewhat like Grumpy Cat.
