Description   I drew a picture of Disney’s version of the Greek Goddess Hera with her (in the movie not the myths) son Hercules a while ago and I caught the bug.
Here I have drawn my four favourite Greek Goddesses as interpreted by me via Disney.

Artemis Goddess of the Moon and Hunt. Not overly fond of either of Disney’s version of my favourite Goddess (the movie and TV series did not share design, she’s grey in the movie…weird).

Athena Goddess of Wisdom. Oh she rules, I love the story of how she bested her uncle and earning the right to name Athens after her. Chuckle at the myth that she annoyed Zeus so much he ate her. And adore that when she killed her friend Pallas, she took her name and put it in front of her own as homage to her fallen friend

Aphrodite Goddess of luv. I mostly love her for her choice of husband and the reasoning behind it. She had offers from all but chose Hefaistos as he wouldn’t keep her as a trophy or try to rule her.

Persephone Goddess of spring and fertility. Not fond of Disney’s deign of her at all. I ask you, is their anyone out there who doesn’t have a special place in their hearts for the (twisted) love story of Hades and Persephone? Hades was also the only one of his brothers who stayed true to his wife and didn’t create new races and demigods all over the place.

It is a true shame Zues and Posidon just couldn't keep it in their pants. o that the others were brilliant at that either.
Relation has never stoped anyone in greek myth

Actually, Hades had the occasional infidelity misstep as well. And Persephone wasn't too cool about it, either. Ovid, Strabo, and Oppian all document the myth of Minthe, a nymph who was his bit on the side. One day she bragged that she was better than Queen Persephone, and Persephone turned her into the spear mint plant as punishment. That does seem to be Hades only affair in the myth set, so he is slightly ahead of both his brothers.

Sadly, he could not. He did do much better than his other brothers. So well done him?

Nope, he lost all that respect I had for him. If he fought so hard and frankly kidnapping and forsed imprissonment by fooling her to come backk to him with them seeds... Ontop of cheating on her, he might now be the worsed. It's very obusive.

I've been studying Greek mythology since I was 11 years old!!!!!  And yes I dare say it, at my own free time . I love all the goddesses and myths there are but the Hades and Persephone myth would have to be one of my personal favorites so I'm someone who has a special place for that love story . And I'll admit the irony of the most unlikely and twisted marriage becoming the most faithful one(the fact that they took some time of from each other probably had something to do with it too)

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan in Persephone's Disney design either. I prefer looking at other designs of her in deviant art. I'm actually wondering how the Hades and Persephone myth would turn out in Disney's Hercules?  I think they would keep the kidnapping concept for Hades because he's well, Hades, but he wouldn't really kidnap a woman for a wife because of the whole "villains can't fall in love" code but Hades would most likely have that rare soft spot in his heart reserved for Persephone whether he likes it or not.

I only glanced it a bit, It was fun but I am more inruiged bu norse mythas it steams form mine and our nabouring countries

If it had been toyed with I am sure he would have fallen for her and kiddnapped her but then she'd humeresly anoyed him so much he returned her r something.
I think DKCisser did a comic about something like that   dkcissner.deviantart.com/art/B…

I completely agree with you on Persephone. It's a very interesting story. I like the fan fiction about the story that says that the "abduction" was simply Persephone running away from home and her Mom not wanting her gone. I don't have a problem with changing mythology. Look at what Hans Christian Anderson did to Mermaids...

If we can't change the stories to fit, they wouldn't be MYTHS. myths aren't real, there isn't a deffinate vertion

Sadly, if I remember properly though, Aphrodite had an affair with Ares behind her husband's back--and he found a way to humiliate them both in the act.

I am somewhat disappointed that they didn't use Persephone in the show--but I do know that someone actually made a good fanfiction on the myth Disney style--giving Persephone a much needed makeover however. Besides, I don't think they were going to use her "properly" myth-wise if they had.

There was an impossibly thin but increadbly strong net above ares bed and they were cuaght in the act litterly abd then dispalyed for their shame

I think love didn't fit thir verion of Hades

I know--it's kind of hard to picture that version of Hades being in love--although he did flirt with Aphrodite a lot.

Omg! I *never thought you would actually create a piece of the goddess of Hercules
This is pure win! the blurry colors on them look beautiful Their poses and expressions leave us the kind of girls they are Artemis and Athena looks like the 'most badasses goddesses ever', like the ones 'who doesn't give a damn about what others think' or something like that! while Aphrodite and Persephone look to be more fragiles and delicate ones, though Aphrodite 's personality was explored throughout the series, unlike Persephone
Disney's Olympian Gods/Goddesses is nice to watch
Very lovely, indeed

I didn't really like Persephone's design to begin with and you never see her in the show. But I do love that she had the only faithful husband of the sons of Cronus. (Even if he was her own uncle.) Also, Athena bested Poseidon for Athens, not Ares.

Thank you for the nudge regarding posaidon, It's been a while since I read my myths I fear. I fixed it Thanks
