Description
They aren’t really containing spoilers… more my opinions, and observations…Thorin is such a sulking self-hating grumpy goose. Aragorn is and was and will be (The LotR moves were 11 years ago, but in the time of the story Aragorn is alive but since it’s prequel we haven’t met him yet) a annoyingly sombre and pessimistic character but Thorin makes Aragorn seem like bucket of sunshine and roses…
Edit: That dosn't mean I don't like Thorin, I do. I love all the dwarfs, and Thorin is likable even though he is sullen.
Lee Pace, who plays Thranduil, king of Mirkwood and father of one Legolas, have also played the role of Ned, the pie-maker with magical powers in one of my favourite TV series: Pushing Daisies.
Kili… I don’t like Kili… But at least this version of Kili, the basically identical twins might have been female. (I am a Pratchett girl, I believe firmly and whole heartedly that All dwarfs have beards, no matter gender, sex and form a very, very early age) I don’t truly mind, but it bugged me a little, clearly I’m overreacting here for comic affect.
Good grief I rolled my eyes when he brought up the bow… And No, I am not overly fond of Leggie either.
Fili…I like him better. He’s pretty, but still looks dwarven. I love beards. My boyfriend has had a beard for 5-6 years. Looks good on him

For me, he is sexier than Kili... IDK... I like how when Bilbo opens the door for them, he looks chill and hot, while Kili looks a little like a madman

I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't really get anything you're talking about... But yay for Pratchett's dwarves, I agree.

woah...anger but anyways I believe that the books are a lot better than the movie..which is why I'm not seeing the hobbit (ducks from being bombarded) I always felt that the elves were emotionless in the movies and that Orlando Bloom (sorry) gave a lousy performance...but to be fair it was his "first" role....also another reason is that horrid stitch wannabe gollum...I personaly believe that the best gollum is brother theodore..haven't seen all of that hobbit or anything of the rotk but his voice is so cool!!

I was exactly like you with the "female" dwarves! Come on! Thorin doesn't even look like a dwarf! They could have, at least, put the actor a huger nose, I don't know... that would have been right. The same for the rest of unbearded dwarves.
The frolicking part kills me XDDDDD

Thorin never bugged me, he still looks very dwarfish to me. I think it's the high forhead... he has on a large fachal prosteic actually ^^ Well he bugged me a little, he dosn't look short. I don't think "short stature" when I observe him. Shure he is ment to be a tall dwarf as they apperently mentioned in the book (haven't read it in 5 years) but it's okay.
Glad you enjoyed ^^

Yes Thorin has flows, can be grumpy, and angry, but it is what makes him also attractive (more than a flat character like Aragorn who is too clean, too perfect, not realistic). And Thorin is not pessimistic: he has the hope to reclaim Erebor with just 13 dwarves against a dragon, I call that optimism

Morloth88 In reply to Evolvana [2013-01-04 12:21:50 +0000 UTC]
I am just mocking him, Aragon was moody but Thorin is super moody.
He is super impressive and everyhing but I don't see what the others gush about
Aragon flat and too clean? I don't agree. but each to their own.

Evolvana In reply to Morloth88 [2013-01-04 15:21:44 +0000 UTC]
I liked Aragorn very much, but he was so... calm... I don't know, never getting too angry or too happy or anything.
But Thorin is different, you can see his feelings, his sad smile, his anger, the sad memories and doubt in his eyes... he's more realistic because he has flaws.

Morloth88 In reply to Evolvana [2013-01-04 17:07:48 +0000 UTC]
I feel the exact opposite
Aragorn was weary and calm, thought first kind of guy. I don't feel we've gotten to know Thorin well enough get. he just got interesting when the movie ended...
we all see thongs differently

Evolvana In reply to Morloth88 [2013-01-04 18:48:56 +0000 UTC]
He's more developped than in the book anyway. He gets more interesting in the events after that, where he shows he is a true leader

I knew That would be alttle complicated to get, that commet. But any longer expliation would just kill the whole thing...
If you watch the show, you know Ned wakes the dead by one touch, but one more and they die again, forever. And that comment really beggs for alot of asumptions form the readers, that they get, Leggie dosen't have a mom, that she died, Thranduil woke her up with onethouch and then accidently killed her again with another... I grant you it was farfetched
