I really don't see how it offends people, honestly. Still, be careful. If someone Japanese happens to read this, it might offend them. Maybe not the story, because they seem to like cats, transformations, and a whole bunch of other weird stuff. Although they see "Jap", and they might be offended, because that's kinda what we call them when we wish to be hateful. Not, perhaps, as well known as "Nigger" or "Cracker" but still just as bad if you're Japanese.
But I'm fine with it, honestly.
