Lapis feels trapped by her past her inability to let go of her fears and jasper refuses to allow lapis to let go and forgive herself believing the crystal gems love for earth makes them weak not to mention her hatred for rose for supposedly shattering pink diamond so lapis allowed herself to merge with jasper making a noble sacrifice by imprisoning them both now lapis is chained by fear and distrust thats why she took the longest to love the planet I hope I was right ive dealt with a similar situation like lapis but with my luck im probably wrong

If I had to say it jasper just sinks deeper and deeper into corruption and darkness trying to drag lapis down with her believing they are the only ones who can win not realizing her flaws or lapis not wanting to fight deep down jasper has a fear of loneliness
