I love windows because it's fast. I don't like the computer that we get at my mom's boyfriend's house because it's SO STINKIN SLOW and it doesn't have any programs that I know and love.

*Has Windows 8 for her laptop* I love using Windows. I've used it for most of my life....well, at least as long as I had been able to learn how to use a computer. Some people give it a bad rep but I still like it. Reason being that it's faster and it allows me to install more art programs that one can't install on Mac. My mom knew full well she shouldn't get me a Mac laptop for this past Christmas because I have a deep dislike for Apple products and that I've had to explain to her that it won't let me install the programs I actually need like I would on a Windows system.

Well, I agree. More programs can be installed on Windows
and I... just find Windows easier than Mac.

I used Mac OS X really many years but then my old Macintosh broke. When I got a new computer I installed both Windows 7 (for games) and Linux (for the other use) because I feared that Windows is terrible crap just like it was really many years ago. But actually Windows 7 was surprisingly good and I haven't needed the Linux for anything. But my boyfriend likes the Linux more because on his computer Windows 7 crashes really often and he has to install it again and again. I don't know why my Windows works so great.

Windows is good for general everyday computing, Linux is fantastic for a programmer who uses high-end rendering applications as well as a lot of compilers.

Mac is good for... Lol NOTHING.

A good portion of digital artists aren't tech nerds... so they need something dumbed down for them. Plus a lot of Macs come with Intel i5 and i7 which have popular rendering speeds, hence why they'd have the illusion that it's better for art.

Although... if the artists need something dumbed down for them why not Win8? It's even more dumbed down than macs... lol.
