  Shisui didn’t have many moments like these with Kageyama. The shorter kitsoo spent most of his daylight hours out working for Knox, the big name fashion designer that Shisui admired from afar, and by the time he came home, he’d be too tired to do much. The new year had just begun and within the silence of this rare moment, Shi couldn’t help but allow his mind to wander through the events of the past year. He had met Kageyama within that year and had fallen for the other’s unique stubborn charm and confidence. More and more as the months passed, his eyes would just get lost in Kage’s focused gaze and unwavering determination, and he’d swoon with every glance and touch from the aggressive kitsoo. It took a few months for them to move in together, which some have said was too early, but Shisui had roamed this land long enough to know when someone was worth it to trust and commit to.
  Shisui snapped out of his thoughts as he felt Kage shift underneath his wing for a moment, moving so his back could curve against the contour of Shisui’s side, his paws out towards the flame of their fireplace to absorb the heat through his paw pads. Shisui couldn’t help but smirk as he felt his lover move about like a restless child, to see his face no longer twisted in its usual frown or furrowed brows in thought but instead relaxed and content. His body was still after some adjustments, and his handsome head laid atop his crossed paws, and Shi felt the temptation to just lean over and place a kiss on the side of his temple.
  Shisui hadn’t made a New Years resolution yet, and it was a few days into the new year. However, drawing his wing close around Kageyama and feeling his chest rise and fall against his feathers gave him instantly an idea of what he wanted to do this year. He wanted to be with Kage more. He craved to see him more like this, no longer just stressed by his work or upset by Hiyo, just to see him peaceful and happy. He wanted to have more moments like this, where it was just them, and the world didn’t interrupt or interject. Just them, and that’s all Shisui wanted.
  His thoughts were cut off as Kageyama shifted once more, this time by the crackle of the fire dancing on the outside of his eyelids, and it looked like the light was disturbing him. Shisui swiftly took his shadows and created a veil on the outside of the fire, between it’s light and Kageyama. He grinned softly when Kage was lured back into sleep, and he rested his head next to the smaller’s, a grin not leaving his lips. Yes, this seemed like a good resolution, Shisui thought to himself as he let out a hum, allowing his golden eyes to close. Kageyama was his resolution, and to be and enjoy life with him more.
