I found them in an art shop of my city, but I guess you can't come to Spain to buy pencils or so , however you can ask any shop of your city, I use faber-castell pencils, those are very good ones, why don't you go and try?

Nope, they are regular pencils, I prefer those, but mechanical pencils are good for small details. I'm sure you can finde them in any store.

Hahaha, thanks and don't worry about not getting the likeness. Actually what matters is that the final drawing is well drawn and not so much the likeness. However, it's all about working on that, don't think my first portraits looked like the refference, they didn't at all!!

i would work further on the eyes and the outline of the nose, just that, and try smearing the shading, it gives a really realistic effect

Such an interesting tutorial.
My technique is sometimes similar, sometimes different . All the differences follow using other mediums (especially powder
).
Unfortunately I am drawing almost everything the same time and do not have a scanner at home .
Regards .

thanks, i know how it is when you're evolved in many projects, right now i have 2 paintings going on and a drawing. Btw, why don't you buy a computer for yourself?
π: 0 β©: 1
Taiia In reply to mortal-coil [2004-10-01 16:46:58 +0000 UTC]
You are welcome .
I have started about ten projects .
Actually just because of money. I could not afford it as long as my fiance is abroad (he left a lot of money at home for me - Remi organizes spending them, but I do not want to take them...). As You probably know, even my subscription is paid by one of my dA friends .
But now I am very pleased, because my friend Sandra has found a great job for me. I will scan hundreds of photographs and correct the contrast/brightness balance. It is so easy and I will earn a lot of money. Sandra will do the rest of the work - improving the hue saturation etc.
Anyway, I do not mind using my friend's computer now. He has two ones but does not use them for whole days...

It depends on the point of view, if someone earns by the work with computer, it seems to be a good investition .
