He is freaking huge! I think if they were going to make Raphael THAT BIG in both the 2014 and 2016 movies, they should have made him the tallest so that his bulk was spread out over his frame in a more equitable manner. He looks too large in some scenes while in others he looks okay. Sometimes in the movie, he just looked like a big square box with a head attached. Of course, I still love him to pieces since he is (and has always been) my favorite Turtle.
I really like your art of Raphael. You did a good job of capturing his hulking size and the smirk evidences his tough guy attitude.

Oh my dear Lord, I CAN'T GET MY EYES OFF on this beautiful Raphael of yours! I love that expression, that beautiful eye, that small smirk, that freaking cute nose!! Those massive muscles and ... kjdbjsdjavh!! I could keep praising you fro Earth to Heaven but I believe this is enough to convince you that I LOVE THIS art!

I think what most people hate about the new movie is exactly what they loved as kids. The gap between their last real exposure to Turtles and this has given them too much time to start asking all those questions that ruin the fun.
Let's face it, that was the least hokey version of Shredder ever: That was a ninja in powered razor-armor. To the end.
The cartoon Shredders have been everything from a useless ninja in razor-armor, to an alien wearing a robot, wearing razor-armor...
And then there's the original Shredder, who was, at first, a ninja in razor-armor... then resurrected as a pile of earthworms imbued by the spirit of the corpse they ate, wearing said razor-armor.
I could go on and on. Turtles were always hokey, folks. AND awesome. And the new movie's just that.
Not even gonna touch the April comparison, I could tell you things about the original that'd turn you white.
