Why did renaissance artists draw people so strangely? The anatomy isn't bad, really, it just seems as though their figures are much more bulky than what people are today.

For realio. Looking at the original drawing, I couldn't help but think, "Did they just like to exaggerate the crap out of everything or did people really look like that? Cause this is nonsense."

That's what I've wondered, too. I did a rendition of a leg drawn by da Vinci, and it looks like there're tumors on it. Honestly. Oo;
