I got my lotus tattoo that I've been wanting for years. It means a lot to me. I'm so glad that I finally got it done. The lotus has always been my favorite flower, especially since it was in my favorite manga, NANA. That's not why I got it though. I got it because it's a symbol that I've been through depression. I've dealt with a lot. I'm not dead yet but I have a reason for living now. If you know where the lotus grows, then you know what I mean.Related content

It's a beautiful tattoo, on an even more beautiful person, and I'm glad I know why you got it. Stay like the lotus. Even if you're rooted where it's dark, and muddy, stay afloat. You don't have to sink or swim. Just hold yourself above the water until you bloom.
