Some characters I personally enjoy, but aren’t really well liked in most circles, enjoy! Link to the original meme here: www.deviantart.com/sithvampire… some of these characters are more divisive then straight up hated, but still…

10eeDee from dexter’s lab: why some people hate her: because she’s a dumb and annoying stereotype who always ruins Dexter’s hard work! Why I like her: I honestly find her funny and in some episodes even a heartwarming character due to how friendly and nice she is, also while she deserves some credit for actually helping save the future (by accident but still…) besides the show wouldn’t be the same without some kind of contrast to our main characters genius.

9: the rabbids from the rayman franchise: why some hate them: because they’re loud and obnoxious, and stole the spotlight from rayman himself. Why I like them: honestly the games they star in are a tone of fun! RRR2 being my favourite of the series (that game was one of my favourites growing up), also they are some of the funniest video game characters ever, as a lot of the humour in the games and in promotional material make me laugh to this very day. I also think they have a likeable/cute design and I’d honestly take them over the minions any day of the week!

8: short round from temple of doom: why some people hate him: because of how annoying he is with all his screaming, not to mention he has to be saved a few times. Why I like him: he’s a pretty cool kid, as he not only gets to join one of the greatest adventure heroes on his darkest adventure yet, but he also helps Indy out a few times and can drive a car (impress for his age). Sure he has to be saved a few times, but the fact that he came out alive from such a place proves he’s badass in his own right, even though he’s probably scared for life from what he saw. As for the screaming he does: come on, let’s be real here you’d be screaming your lungs out to if you were in his position.I’ll admit Willie does suck, but short round is awesome.

7: charmy bee from the sonic series: why some people hate him: because his disruptive attitude, his recklessness, and just being plain annoying. Why I like him: he’s a pretty likeable insect, as he’s always trying to help his fellow members of the Chaotix and sometimes he is legitimately helpful despite his hyperactive personality. He also has some great comedic chemistry with the Espio and Vector in sonic heroes, those cutscenes with them are the best character interactions in that game, not to mention he does seem to have mellowed down a bit in recent games. Honestly I’d like a full Chaotix game someday, but it’s been a while since SEGA has made another character besides sonic himself playable…

6: Emma from the quarry: why some people hate her: due to her kissing Nick (her best friends BF) just to piss off Jacob, as well as being a jerk to Jacob overall. Why I like her: it’s pretty cool to have a YouTuber as one of the main characters in more mainstream media, who isn’t portrayed as a fat lowlife stereotype. She not only does a good job being charismatic and fun in her vlogs, but she later talks about how important her followers are and how she just likes entering people/bring them joy. As for her kissing her friends boyfriend, yeah I’ll agree she shouldn’t have done that, but we all do dumb stuff sometimes that we later regret, besides it’s clear she actually does care about her friend Abigail. As for the Jacob thing: let’s face it he is kinda pushing himself on her a little too hard, and he probably should learn to accept the fact that she’s over him.

5:Crash and Eddie from the ice age series: why some people hate them: they’re pointless dumb comic relief characters in a franchise that already has a good amount of funny characters, they also lie to their big sister just to keep her around. Why I like them: honestly I think these two are funny from time to time, the banter between them actually feels like something real brothers who are close would say, and they are overall fun characters (who have a design that mixes ugly and cute well). Yeah they do lie to their sister Ellie by saying she’s a possum which in turn makes her not taken seriously, but I understand why they lie to her: because Crash and Eddie are worried that if she finds out about her being a mammoth, then she’ll leave them and never see them again (as shown when they worry about her joining the mammoth herd at the end). I’ll admit I don’t like them in collision course and adventures of buck wild (from what I’ve seen), but let’s face it everyone in those films were butchered! In ice age 2 and dawn of the dinosaurs I view them as prehistoric mammal versions of Bevis and Butthead.

4: Oscar from shark tale: why some people hate him: greedy and selfish (no pun intended), constantly making dumb decisions which effect those around him and himself, and lying to the entire city just to make himself look good. Why I like him: he’s a funny character who despite his moronic choices actually manages to be an understandable and somewhat realistic protagonist! Fame is something a lot of people want, and Oscar is willing to do crazy stuff just to get recognized. He also has understandable reasons for wanting to be a celebrity: ever since he was a guppy no one respected him or his father who he looks up to even as an adult, so is it wrong for him to want respect? Yeah he does dumb stuff like betting money he owes in hopes he’ll become a millionaire, takes credit for killing a shark even though he’s a total wimp, and falls for an obvious gold digger, but he does go through a pretty good character arc where he learns how much more to life their is than fame, as well as learning to appreciate what he has, not to mention how people often overlook his redeeming qualities (I.e his friendships, his forgiveness, and positive outlook on life). What people will forgive other characters who have done much worse before turning their ways around, but Oscar who was just greedy and a lair is beyond redemption?

3: Brian from family guy: why some people hate him: a mouthpiece for Seth to shove his political views down our throats, often a hypocrite, not a great friend to Stewie, and flandernization. Why I like him: I’ll admit the newer episodes of family guy are pretty bad, but for the most part Brian remains a good character most of the time! He’s dry wit and Sophisticated talk still makes me laugh, he’s shown to have a soft side despite his straightforward attitude, and overall still has interesting stories about him! While yes he is a mouthpiece for the series creator in later episodes, he has a right to state his personal views on subjects, and he does often stand for others rights, which is admirable. Also he does often help Steiwe with growing up and leading him to the right path (something which isn’t easy I’d imagine lol). I’ll admit their are some episodes where he’s a douche like Brian’s a bad father or herpe the love sore, but those are few and far in between, also considering the F’d up household he lives in, is it surprising he occasionally does bad stuff? Their was also an episode where he scammed quagmire out of a house and money, but quagmire deserves that!

2: princess tilde from kingsman: why some people hate her: pointless love interest who interferes with ships, only exists to look sexy, and her “gross” moment at the end of the first one. Why I like her:while she doesn’t have as much screen time as other characters here, I like most of the scenes she’s in and her characterization from what we see! She has strong morals (like how she refuses to give valentine any information, even as she’s being imprisoned by him, and stands up for her people), doesn’t let the fact that she’s dating a spy stop her from wanting to marry him anyways, and tries her best to cheer him up after awful stuff happens to him. I didn’t even like golden circle much, but still liked her! As for the scene from the first movie: I don’t see the problem as bond (the series these movies are paying homage to) have women just throw themselves at him, it makes sense for Eggsy to have the same thing happen with him!

1:uncle grandpa from the show of the same name: why some people hate him: he’s dumb, he gives off creepy vibes, and is just annoying. Why I like him: it feels like most people just watched season 1 and never watched past that, as the show does get better and find it’s footing, unfortunately most people have already made up their mind about uncle grandpa. As for the characters himself: he’s one of the most unique Cartoon Network protagonists IMO, he’s also a funny and lovable old guy who’s bursting with charm and personality! His mission to help kids is charming and his powers and mystery of where he comes from makes me love this guy!
