Description If you've been watching my Gallery in the past year or so, you might remember some shots of tulip trees (also known as magnolias, though not the Southern type). One of them was taken outside of my church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. This year the tree is bigger and has more blossoms than ever, and I couldn't resist taking a few more photos.

It was cloudy and raining off and on, so I had to lighten the exposure on this picture. But I'm surprised and happy with the angle I got on these blossoms.

Enjoy!

Thank you! They're actually a type of magnolia, but the blossoms look very much like tulips. We also have a lot of Southern Magnolias with white blossoms, but they're different from the tulip trees in a lot of ways. Tulip trees bloom in late winter, and the flowers come out before the leaves. Southern Magnolias bloom in warm weather, but the leaves come out first!

You're welcome!
Ah, I see. Fascinating plants, I wonder if we have some of those around here.

I'm not sure. I looked up about them on Wikipedia, but from what I can tell they only grow in North America or maybe parts of Asia.

If you ordered one, you might still be able to grow them if the soil is right for them. They just don't seem to be native to where you live, but I could be wrong.

I have to ask Mom about that. She's more "green fingers" person than I am.

Certainly more than I am! I've been trying to grow some herbs, but they keep dying on me. ^^:

Aww. :`D Well, I kill roses instead of taking care of them. xยดD Not intended, but it happens. I have some dried roses hanging from the ceiling in my room... or they were hanging, Sis took them down.
