After more than 70 years of absence, the Komodo Dragon has returned to the Amsterdam Zoo.
There are two youngsters in the Reptile House, and since they're still young - and small comsidering the size they'll become - they are at least for now, in an enclosure behind glass, between the Geckos, Snakes and other Lizards.

Species: Komodo Dragon or Monitor (Komodo varaan)
Latin name: Varanus Komodoensis
Originates from the Indonesian islands Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang and Padar.
Current status: Vulnerable

…A Komodo Dragon can get up to 3 meters long, equaling 10 ft.
…Their unually large size is attributed to island gigantism.
