It's a Giant Rat

I've got nothing against Rats, to be honest. They get blamed for the problems we make by not taking decent care of our own garbage disposal. In other words, not cleaning up our own garbage at all...

Now, these aren't just any Rats, they're Giant cuties You won't easily find them scurrying in the trash, though you might run across them if you live in the Philippines

Species: Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat (Noordelijke Luzon nevelrat)

Latin name: Phloeomys Pallidus

Originates from Luzon, the Philippines.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

…Because of its relatively large size, they aren’t able to enter traditional small-mammal traps and this has resulted in little research in the species.

…They are sometimes considered a pest because of the damage they cause to agriculture and are hunted for food. Yet they are able to withstand hunting pressure and remain common and widespread.
