Life for (baby) Seals in the waters around the Netherlands isn't easy - a lot of poison has been detected due to extensive research, and the amount of lungworm in Seal pups is worrisome.

Many of the pups end up on the beaches - wounded, exhausted, sick, etc. It's a good thing there are rescues who will do their best to help them

This pup is fattening up for his release, and doing well

Species: Eastern Atlantic Common Seal (Gewone Zeehond)

Latin name: Phoca vitulina vitulina

Originates from Europe and Western Asia

Current status: Least Concern
