Things got very exciting as the zoo keepers brought in food for Mama Fossa - the babies scurried up into the tree, but without their mother. And that was SCARY.

They were calling and confused and a disoriented. They hid in the crook of the tree and were not seen again that day.I heard from the zoo keeper later that they were sleepnig indoors so don't worry, nothing happened to them

Species: Fossa (Fretkat)

Latin name: Cryptoprocta Ferox

Originates from Madagascar.

Current status: Vulnerable

…It is a cat-like, carnivorous Malagasy mammal, and as a member of the Eupleridae, is closely related to the Mongoose family.

…The Fossa’s classification has been controversial; while its physical traits resemble a Cat’s, other traits suggest a close relationship to Civets.
