Description
Photo taken in July, 2014 @ Eureka Texel, The Netherlands
You know what can be the best thing about revisiting zoos? The memories that come back of visits in the past. We've been here a couple ofย times before, and the owls and raptors are always a sight to behold.
Not many zoos have the most normal kinds of birds, such as this Tawny Owl. And they even hatched some chicks!
Species: Tawny Owl (Bosuil)
Latin Name: Strix aluco
Originates from Eurasia
Current status: Least Concern

Tawny owls are really among my favourites!ย They have such sweet expressions and poofy heads.

It's such a pity that they seem so common, yet I barely ever get to see them Having seen them at this place (and their little chicks
) they've totally grown on me

Thanks
Though this is a grown-up; the baby's were behind two sets of fences, so really hard to photograph
