Description
Photo taken in June, 2016 @ Gaia Zoo, The NetherlandsAs I mentioned before, we didn't get too many good shots of these kits, what with the bad weather, bad lighting, wet ground and lots of shrubbery. Still, we can't help but share some more pics of the twins
Species: Bat-Eared Fox (Grootoorvos of Lepelhond)
Latin name: Otocyon Megalotis
Originates from South Africa.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…The Bat-Eared Fox is predominantly monogamous.
…In contrast to other Canids, they have a reversal in parental roles, the males taking on the majority of parental care behavior.
…Some view Bat-Eared Foxes as an entirely different sort of species – the Otocyon – while others say it is in fact closely related to the true Foxes, of the genus Vulpes, and another group divides them into an outgroup which is not closely related to true Foxes at all.

Absolutely sweet! Haven't seen pics of tiny bat-eared kits before, so this is quite a treat - thanks!
